iASEAN: Involvement, Inclusiveness and Innovation by ASEAN youth.

In 2018, students unite in videoconferences at colleges across ASEAN for the Connecting Corners Program.  They will debate some of the regions most important topics — tolerance, integration & peace; women in business & government; environment; and youth’s participation in ASEAN.  Students will share, analyze and develop action plans for their communities.

These videoconferences will be forums moderated by PeaceTech similar to town hall meetings.  They connect campuses in: Bangkok, Thailand; Darussalam, Brunei; Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam; Jakarta, Indonesia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Marawi City, Philippines; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Rangoon, Myanmar; Singapore; Tawi-Tawi, Philippines; Vientianee, Laos; and Zamboanga City, Philippines

The Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC) of the US Embassy Manila and PeaceTech are program partners. Assisting will be YSEALI or the “Young South East Asian Leaders Initiative”.

Connecting Corners is part of the TJIC initiative to provide internet for  American Corner partners in Mindanao, where many youth are vulnerable to extremism.
